Hey!  This is a guide which describes a bunch of resources which (hopefully) will help you in completing Sweet Dreams.

IMPORTANT!  Grab lots of resources from the first Sweet Dreams like the pies and stuff!  In fact, you'll NEED the first Sweet Dreams to do the second because you're going to need to put all 3 missions in one mod.
Read the Lua files to figure out save stones.  You'll need them.  I commented how save stones work.

#2 should be the castle.  Put a variety of enemies in!  You don't need all the ones I say below; these are examples.  Pies should not be able to hurt castle enemies.  Use the boss door!  When you need to find sprites for Super Mario World objects, Google is your friend!  If you can't find what you need, you can play SMW in an SNES emulator and then take a screenshot (that's what I did to get the castle door).
After beating Bowser or one of the 8 bosses, you should enter a cutscene and find Daisy, saying "Sorry Mario, but the princess is in another-" and then she says "Wait, who the fuck are you?".  :D Mario reference.  Then Dimitri might say something along the lines of "Where's my Goddamn cake?", to which Daisy replies "What cake?", to which Dimitri replies with a lethal pie in the face.

Note - You should gib each section of Dimitri separately.  So for example, if Dimitri accidentally dips his legs in lava, his legs should individually gib instead of completely gibbing Dimitri.

- Thwump - Invincible physical entity.  Should gib anything it touches.  It drops down when Dimitri is under it.  When it is initialized it should cast a ray to find how far away the ground below it is, and then go down if Dimitri is within a box slightly wider than the Thwump stretching all the way to the ground below it.  It should go back up slower once it is at the end of said box.
- Bullet bill - Invincible physical entity that fires bullet bills, looks like a cannon.  The cannon should not be dangerous but it will fire bullet bills that gib things when they are touching it from any direction but up.  If Dimitri is touching it from upwards instead, it will destroy the bullet bill.  The classic SMW animation for Bullet Bills dying is they turn upside down and fall, ignoring walls.
- Lava - Non-colliding animated thing.  Its sprite is in the tileset.  If you don't know how to animate stuff check How I did it to Dimitri sleeping.
- Lava jumpers - They jump out of the lava.  Has an animation if I remember correctly.  Non-colliding, gibs what it touches.
Dry bones - Dies like bullet bills: only from upwards, but only collapses and comes back.
Swinging chains - They swing in a circle.  Picture in tileset.  The rings of the chain don't hurt you and don't collide, but the spiky ball does.
Spikes - They gib what they touch.  In tileset.

#3 can be whatever you want!  Try to have a bunch of Portal references.  I was thinking of a long mission involving an underground Coalition base originally, which had a grassy field and then the base.  A final boss in a big room is at the end waiting for you.  You might want to use 4Shame at the end in a loop.  It'd be FANTASTIC if you'd have some Monty Python references in here.  The boss should have funny dialogue.


IMPORTANT!  Humor is the big thing in Sweet Dreams.  I have a few funny references listed here.  Google them if necessary!

PROGRAMMING

Here's how I did stuff:
For the cutscenes I have an invisible brain that you can't switch away from that centers the camera on where I want.  I have phases with lots of if statements to make the acting work.
The save stones communicate with the mission by changing their weight.
